
The LMSE organizes training workshops on water sample analysis
The Microbiology, Health and Environment Laboratory (LMSE) organized a series of training workshops on how to detect polluted water and its danger to health and the environment. The courses included Lebanese Red Cross volunteers and health monitors in the municipalities of Tripoli and El Mina.
The head of the laboratory, Professor Mounzer Hamza, pointed out in the workshops the danger of bacterial contaminated water to public health, talking about the most important diseases that contaminated water can transmit in sewage.
He also explained in detail the principles of the analyzes to determine the presence of fecal contamination and whether or not the water is suitable for drinking.
Professor Hamza also presented in detail the steps that must be respected when taking the sample according to scientific principles.
