Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Civil Engineering/Construction & Bridges from the University of Illinois in the United States of America in 1967.
  • Master in Civil Engineering from MIT University in Boston, USA, in 1963.
  • Diploma in Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1961.

Professional Career

  • Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture at the Lebanese University for 17 consecutive years (1977-1994).
  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 1) at the Lebanese University.
  • Chaired the Lebanese University Rent Committee for several years.
  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering & Architecture/American University of Beirut between 1989-1991.
  • Technical advisor to the Lebanese Ministry of Defense between 1967-1977.
  • Member of the Order of Engineers and Architects - Beirut and a number of scientific and professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
  • Engineering consultant in a number of Lebanese and international institutions.
  • Engineering designer at the British Consulting Office/London in 1960.
  • Participated in local and international scientific conferences, and author of number of published scientific researches.
