Branch 1 formed the basic nucleus of the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration, which was established under the name of “Faculty of Commerce” in 1967, and replaced in 1970 by “Faculty of Business Administration”.

With the establishment of the Department of Economics, the Faculty name was changed again in 1981 to become "Faculty of Economics & Business Administration".
