At the FFAA – Branch 4: “Empowerment of Women” addresses social issues

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture (FFAA) – Branch 4 organized an artistic and creative exhibition in partnership with the WEHUB program for women's empowerment and the agency Expertise France.

 

The exhibition was inaugurated by the director of the French Institute in Deir el-Qamar, Tiphaine Malfettes, the director of the Cnam in Baakline, engineer Layal Bou Krom, the representative of the artists' union, artist Khaled Terro, the director of the National Library, Professor Ghazi Saab, Dr. Walid Safi, Dr. Omar Ghannam, Dr. Gulnar Wakim, Professor Farid Mahmoud, as well as several mayors, directors of universities, high schools, schools, and institutes, and a crowd of students.

 

Dr. Rania Ghanem hosted the ceremony, emphasizing that this meeting opened a wide window onto the world of creativity and community engagement.

Dr. Dima Raad, visual artist and supervisor of the students' work, then took the floor to praise the students' level of achievement and their concern for integrating art into the human dimension.

 

For his part, the project director, Mr. Firas Talhouk, emphasized the program's role in empowering women and young people, noting that this activity is part of a series of exhibitions that allow students to present their vision of the world and use art as a means of raising awareness and bringing about change.

 

The branch director, Dr. Zaher Abdel Khalek, also spoke, emphasizing that the exhibition is the result of a strong partnership between the faculty and the French Agency, stressing the importance of strengthening community awareness through art.

 

After the speeches, the exhibition was inaugurated and guests were able to admire the works of art, which included paintings, installations, and drawings. Visitors expressed their admiration for the level of creativity and the humanitarian messages conveyed by the students' works.

 

It should be noted that the Women Empowerment Hub (WEHUB) program is a European initiative that aims to strengthen women's leadership roles and increase their participation in public life, create an environment conducive to their integration into the labor market, and support legislative reforms that protect them from violence.
