Georges Neaimeh wins LU Chess Championship for Branches 2

The Faculty of Science – Branch 2 hosted the Rapid Chess Championship for students of the Lebanese University faculties and institutes – Branches 2, with the participation of about 40 students.

 

The championship witnessed high technical levels and fierce competition for the top places, with student Georges Neaimeh (Faculty of Engineering) winning the championship title.

 

The competition was organized under the supervision of Tania Daher, head of sports activities at Branches 2, with the assistance of coach Jessica Sakr and a team of faculty students. Coach Georges Farah attended the competition and took charge of the technical aspects, while international referee and member of the Lebanese Chess Federation Elias Khairallah managed the competitions.

 

At the end of the tournament, medals were distributed to the winners in recognition of their intellectual and athletic efforts.
