Student Abir Mourad ranks first in Lebanon in the recitation competition
Student Abir Mourad, from the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences - Branch 1, won first place in Lebanon in the public speaking competition organized at the Beirut Arab University with the participation of students from various Lebanese universities entitled: “Creators of empty content in the age of digital platforms: Renewal of Standards or Decline in Awareness”.
Prior to participating in the competition, Abir underwent intensive professional training under the supervision of Faculty Dean Dr. Soha El Samad, Dr. Maha Jarjour, Dr. Hamid Hamid, Dr. Abbas Zinati, and Dr. Gloria Khater.
Abir is currently pursuing her second year of Arabic Language & Literature at the FLHS – Branch 1, and her third year of Journalism at the Faculty of Information – Branch 1.
Regarding her studies at the Lebanese University, Abir says: “I chose to study Arabic because I love this language and writing it, and my professors at the faculty played a major role in this decision due to their high level of competence in this field and their constant follow-up with me and my colleagues. As for the Faculty of Information, I acquired the basic skills to enter the world of journalism and professional writing”.
