“My Experience” with Dr. Ali Youssef Bazzi at the ISS - Branch 5

The Institute of Social Sciences – Branch 5 hosted a seminar entitled "My Experience", an idea launched by the Lebanese Sociological Association with the aim of presenting the academic and research careers of retired professors to students.

“My Experience” seminar, which this time hosted Dr. Ali Youssef Bazzi, was presented by Dr. Sahar Hijazi, representing the branch director Dr. Nadim Mansouri and the president of the Lebanese Sociological Association Dr. Fidaa Bou Haidar, and was attended by a large crowd of professors from the Institute and the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences – Branch 5, led by Branch Director Dr. Ahmad Nasrallah, as well as undergraduate and master's students.

"My experience" with Dr. Ali Bezi was a journey spanning seven decades, beginning in his village of Bint Jbeil, which was destroyed by Israeli attacks more than once, and ending in the world of sociological and anthropological research.

Dr. Bazzi emphasized that the greatest challenge facing destruction and reconstruction every four or five years is science, science, and science, pointing out that anthropology has shown him beyond a doubt that the Lebanese are culturally and physiologically one people.

During the seminar, the audience asked questions about the importance of anthropology and sociology, and Dr. Bazzi emphasized that these two sciences are capable of explaining people's behaviors and facilitating the processes of domination for those who plan them.
