Dr. Wassim Jaber graduate of the Lebanese University proposes with a group of researchers an anti-Coronavirus scientific discovery
A group of Lebanese researchers revealed a scientific achievement within the framework of combating Coronavirus through the use of nanotechnology. This achievement received two certificates of global effectiveness, the first from Valencia Institute of Microbiology in Spain and the second from the Industrial Research Institute (IRI) at the Lebanese University, in addition to a Lebanese patent from the Intellectual Property Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
Pending the adoption of global vaccines and confirmation of their effectiveness, Dr. Wasim Jaber, Dr. Hussein Jaber and Eng. Mohsen Moamen reached a product formula, harmless to humans, and capable of completely eliminating coronavirus.
The importance of the product is that its effectiveness in sterilization and killing the virus extends for months, whether it is placed on solid places or on fabrics, including masks and clothes of medical personnel working at the frontlines, or on banknotes. The product can also be used in air-condition filters, thus any virus in the room is killed upon hitting the product's particles, in addition to surfaces in cars and medical places.
Dr. Wassim Jaber indicates that the product will be available in Lebanon and abroad within three weeks and will be used first in masks, noting that several countries, such as France, Czechia and Italy, have started using nanomolecular technology to confront Coronavirus.
It is noteworthy that the supervisor of the research team, Dr. Wassim Jaber, is a graduate of the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University (BA in Physics in 2008) and holds a PhD in Heat Transfer at Nanoscale from the University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in France.
Dr. Hussein Jaber is a professor at the Faculty of Agronomy at the Lebanese University and holds a PhD in Electronics from Kiev University in Ukraine.
Dr. Wassim Jaber considers that the Lebanese University is the national institution paving the way for creativity and called upon the government to support it because it is the only pillar that can lead the country to rise from its crises. He added: “Had it not been for the good science and experience we gained from the professors; we would not have reached where we are today. This university, despite all circumstances and changes, is a homeland for every person who dreams of success”.
