Four LU teams qualify for the “ACPC-Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship 2021”
The Lebanese University teams qualified to participate in the “ACPC-Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship 2021”, which will be organized next December in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
Four teams from the Faculty of Science (Branch 1) and the Faculty of Engineering (Branch 3) succeeded in passing the first stage of the competition “LCPC-Lebanese Collegiate Programming Competition”, during contests that took place in the laboratories of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Science on 6 November 2021.
The competition, which initiated since 2009, aims to raise students' competency in programming, solve complex problems, and attract companies that seek to recruit talents in the field of programming. The third phase will be organized in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Among the nearly 200 participating teams, the Lebanese University was at the forefront of the competition under the supervision and training of Dr. Antoine Yacoub, and the follow-up and coordination of Dr. Zeinab Al-Saghir:
- Tourists v1.3 – Faculty of Science (Branch 1): 3rd place
- SEPT4 - Faculty of Science (Branch 1): 7th place
- ERROR_707 - Faculty of Science (Branch 1): 11th place
- Engicoders - Faculty of Engineering (Branch 3): 14th place
