The Lebanese University: 3rd locally and 9th regionally in “THE - Arab University Rankings 2021”
The Lebanese University ranked 3rd in Lebanon and 9th in the Arab world, according to the results of the “Times Higher Education (THE) - Arab University Rankings 2021”. In its first assessment of universities in the Arab world and North Africa, the performance indicators were grouped into five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry income (knowledge transfer).
Out of a total of 125 participating universities from 14 Arab countries, the Lebanese University ranked 3rd locally based on its reputation and cooperation with local, Arab and international academic institutions and standards related to community services. The Lebanese University also ranked 9th among the biggest universities hosting +30,000 students.
Thus, the Lebanese University adds a new achievement to its record in other global rankings, especially with the “QS” and “Webometrics”, as part of its efforts to achieve its vision and enhance its position in the Arab world and globally, and serve the SDGs - Agenda 2030.
The Lebanese University had also achieved a distinguished result in the “Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021”, ranking 2nd in Lebanon and 12th in the Arab world, and ranked among the top 200-300 universities in the world.
Out of about 1,115 universities around the world, the Lebanese University ranked 65th globally in its pursuit to achieve SDG 10 - “Reduced Inequality”. Based on the indicators of impact, SDG 4 - “Quality Education”, SDG 13 - “Climate Action” and SDG 17 - “Partnerships for the Goals”, the Lebanese University ranked among the first two hundred international universities working to achieve these goals.
