The Lebanese University ranks second in “IBA MEA – 2021” competition organized by AAPG
Students of Master in Petroleum & Environmental Geosciences at the Faculty of Science ranked second in the “IBA2021- Imperial Barrel Award of the Middle East Region” organized by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 22-23 March 2021, under the auspices of Saudi Aramco, Saudi Geophysical Office and Chevron.
In light of Covid-19, students Christina Akle, Rayane Nehme, Megali Chedrawi, Hadi Abdel Sater and Ahmed Ezz El-Din participated virtually via Zoom and submitted their study results on the competition topic "Evaluating petroleum of the basque cantabrian basin in Spain, modeling its reservoirs and analyzing the geophysical data”.
Dr. Abbas Mougharbel supervised the students’ work in coordination with Dr. Veronique Gaspard, Head of the Geosciences Department at the Faculty of Science.
