Student Karina Antoun ranked 3rd for best scientific poster in “FRPM21” in Budapest

Student Karina Antoun (3rd year at the Doctoral School of Science & Technology) won third-place award for the best scientific poster presented to the international conference “European Meeting on Fire Retardant Polymeric Materials”, which was held in Budapest, Hungary between 29 August and 1 September 2021.

The poster deals with the development of natural non-combustible fibers by linking molecules extracted from sunflower waste to those fibers to reach the composition of non-combustible compressed wood.

It is noteworthy that Karina is pursuing her PhD dissertation at the Doctoral School of Science & Technology in partnership with the French University of Lorraine, under the supervision of Professor Roland El Hajj and Professor Michel Nakhl from the Lebanese University, Professor Nicolas Brosse from the University of Lorraine and Dr. Rodolphe Sonnier from the French “IMT Mines Alès”.
