
The Lebanese University participate in “Hult Prize Challenge 2021”
Centre MINE of the Lebanese University supervised preparatory seminars to participate in the "Hult Prize Challenge 2021" in 14 branches.
Out of 493 applicants from 139 teams, 14 teams from various LU faculties qualified for the "Hult Prize Challenge" regionals, which presents yearly a challenge targeting a global social issue based on one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year's theme is "Food for Good," a title derived from the 2030 Agenda, which is about transforming food into a means of change, pushing towards innovation, creating jobs, revitalizing the economy, making profits and reproducing the food chain in a healthy way.
The LU teams qualified for the regionals after attending preparatory seminars and training workshops conducted by about 17 certified trainers, whose programs included the presentation of the competition, its objectives, how to present ideas, how to pitch before the jury, and how to turn ideas into products.
The qualified teams are:

- “Food Ink” from the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration – Branch 3;
- “Dracket” from the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration – Branch 5;
- “Fruitune” from the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration – Branch 6;
- “Mouneh” from the Faculty of Engineering – Branch 1;
- “Chill-Lit” from the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture – Branch 4;
- “Fit N Fast” from the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences – Branch 2;
- “The Booters” from the Center for Language and Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences;
- “Brain Power” from the Faculty of Pedagogy – Branch 1;
- “Let’s Go Nuts” from the Faculty of Science – Branch 1;
- “Yummy B” from the Faculty of Science – Branch 2;
- “Modern Urban Farming” from the Faculty of Science – Branch 4;
- “Juicy Fregime” from the Faculty of Technology – Branch 2;
- “Rollet Bird” from the Institute of Social Sciences – Branch 3.
