PhD student Ali Daher designs AI system “VAMPIRE”

On 22 June 2022, the scientific journal Springer Computing published a research paper related to the design of an artificial intelligence (AI) program for PhD student Ali Daher, entitled: “VAMPIRE: vectorized automated ML pre-processing and post-processing framework for edge applications”.

The program “VAMPIRE” works with high speed and accuracy to identify the target in IoT systems. For example, it can diagnose the medical condition of the mind and heart thanks to the programs or “algorithms” it contains, and can process electrical and medical signals before they are used in IoT devices because they do not consume unit resources. VAMPIRE also has a post-processing feature that features accurate recognition, target identification, and resource consumption.

The research forms part of a doctoral dissertation for the major in Electronics & Communications Engineering prepared by student Daher in partnership between the Doctoral School of Science & Technology and the Italian University of Genoa, under the supervision of Professor Hussein Shibli and Professor Danielle Caviglia.
