Scientific Qualifications

  • State PhD in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut (USJ) in 1988.
  • PhD in Arabic Language and Literature from USJ in 1984.
  • Master's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from USJ in 1981.
  • B.A. in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Damascus in 1973.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS) of the Lebanese University (LU) in 1988.
  • Promoted to the rank of professor in 1998.
  • Head of the Arabic language department at the FLHS - Branch 4 for ten years.
  • Participated in the training of Arabic language teachers at the Higher Normal School - Zahle for two consecutive years.
  • Member of the Lebanese Writers Union and the Arab Writers Union.
  • President of the University Cultural Forum.
  • Participated in several literary and linguistic Arab conferences in Lebanon and in several countries of the Arab world.
  • Author of several published works and articles.
