
Scientific seminar on “Excavations at the site of Kition - Cyprus”
The Department of Arts & Archaeology at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences, organized an online scientific seminar on the latest developments in excavations at the site of Kition/Larnaca in Cyprus, entitled "News from the archaeological mission in Kition - Cyprus".
The seminar was presented by Dr. Pauline Maillard from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, head of the French archaeological mission at the site of Kition. She discussed the results of the excavations at the site, focusing on the archaeological finds, particularly the clay figurines and Phoenician inscriptions, which confirm the site's importance as a prominent Phoenician settlement in the eastern Mediterranean.
