Decision No. 1388 Equivalency System and Transition to the master’s degree in the FDM

Article 1

Exemption of doctors holding the title of lecturer from academic credits in their master's degree related to their specialization and registration in credits related to the dissertation only for the purpose of discussing the dissertation to obtain a professional master's degree in their specialization.

 

Article 2

Exemption of doctors holding the title of Chief Examiner from some credits and registration in thirty credits distributed as follows:

- Research and discussion of thesis: nine credits

- Clinical work: five credits

- Clinical work: six credits

- Theoretical: ten credits

 

Article 3

For other titles, doctors may be promoted to the rank of chief examiner in accordance with Decision No. 4710 and benefit from the second clause or have their degrees and scientific activities recognized in accordance with the following equivalence table.

To register for a professional master's degree:

- Five credits for clinical training for each year of training

- Specialization diploma from the Lebanese University (DUB and DUA) 60 credits

- Specialization certificate (CES B and CES A or DES) 30 credits

- Teaching experience: 2 credits for each academic year, provided that the number of teaching hours does not fall below 150 hours per year.

- Scientific activity: 4/1 credit for each point according to the points calculated by the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Decision No. 1302.

 

Article 4

Doctors who hold a specialty certificate in orthodontics (or its equivalent, CECSMO) are required to publish one original research paper in their field of specialization in a peer-reviewed journal with an Impact Factor in order to be promoted to the highest rank according to the promotion system adopted by the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Decree No. 1710.
