The Faculty of Medical Sciences organized the fifth Lebanese University Medical Assembly (LUMA 5) over two days in the conference hall at Rafik Hariri University Campus - Hadath.

The conference was officially launched by Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, Lebanese University President Dr. Bassam Badran, and Faculty Dean Dr. Saada Alame. The conference was attended by graduate doctors, current students, residents, professors, and researchers.

In her speech, Dean Alame pointed out that the journey of the graduates from the faculty to positions of leadership in the medical field is a source of great pride, praising the graduates' support for the faculty, whether academic, professional, or international.

She noted that this conference embodies one of the most prominent aspects of this support, highlighting the achievements of graduates and students and strengthening bridges of communication between different medical and scientific groups.

The conference, organized in collaboration with Science Pro, featured a diverse program covering the latest developments in medicine through panel discussions led by experts and specialists in emergency obstetric care, fertility preservation, preventive medicine, oral anticoagulant management, and innovations in pediatric epilepsy.

The conference agenda also included sessions on the role of AI in healthcare and its emerging impact on diagnosis, clinical decision-making, bone injuries, and advanced imaging.

The conference concluded with a session presenting abstracts and posters of research by students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, with 53 abstracts evaluated in a peer review process by a graduate assessment committee based in the United States of America.
