Graduation Ceremony

The FLPAS – Branch 3 celebrates the graduation of a new class of bachelor's degree students

The Faculty of Law and Political and Administrative Sciences (FLPAS) – Branch 3 celebrated the graduation of a new class of undergraduate students at a ceremony held at the Rachid Karami International Exhibition Center, under the patronage of President Bassam Badran and in the presence of political, religious, and academic figures, as well as the graduates' families.

After the national anthem and the university anthem, the ceremony began with a speech by graduate Marie Gerges Tohme, followed by speeches by Director Khaled Kheir and Dean Habib Kazzi.

President Badran then took the floor: "We share the joy of the students of the FLPAS, a faculty that is considered the beacon of law and the mirror of political life in a country that aspires to justice and seeks stability. Specializing in law and political science is not limited to memorizing texts or analyzing systems, but constitutes a moral commitment, a humanitarian position, and a national mission. Today more than ever, Lebanon needs judges who are not afraid, lawyers who do not compromise, activists who do not back down, and researchers who do not tire. It needs a generation that believes that law is not a tool of domination but a means of justice, and that politics is not only the art of the possible but also the art of reform and accountability.

He added: "Your graduation today marks your transition from the classroom to the world of work, but also your transition from knowledge to responsibility and from learning to commitment. You have chosen a specialty that places you at the heart of society, where laws are written, institutions are built, and values are put to the test. Today, you are called upon to be the voice of justice in an age of noise, and to be the conscience of the nation at a time when it is necessary to affirm that the law cannot be bought and that politics is not limited to narrow interests. You have learned that the purpose of law is to bring justice to the oppressed and deter the oppressors, and you have learned that politics is about seeking to understand society and change it for the better. You are the children of the North, of Tripoli and Lebanon, you carry the legacy of a city that has resisted marginalization and stereotypes, the legacy of a Lebanese University that is steadily climbing the global rankings and occupies the top spots locally, a university that has always believed that education is a right for all and that knowledge is the path to freedom.

Concluding: "As you embark on a new adventure, I urge you to make integrity your shield and service to others your goal. Today, you are the ambassadors of the Lebanese University in the fields of justice and decision-making, its shining face in Lebanon and around the world. May your degree be a bridge to reform, and may your professional life be a daily prayer for truth, freedom, and human dignity. I congratulate you and your families on this achievement, and I salute your professors who have sown the seeds of thought and commitment in you. I assure you that the Lebanese University will remain with you, your first shared memory and your permanent forum."

The ceremony ended with the presentation of diplomas to the graduates.
