The LU is the 1st in the Arab world to introduce “computational linguistics” into its curriculum
Former Jordanian Minister of Education Labib Khadra pointed out that the Lebanese University is one of the first Arab universities to introduce computational linguistics into its curriculum, noting that there is ongoing Arab effort and work to improve and develop tools and applications for the humanities and languages.
Minister Khadra made his remarks during the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation awards ceremony for Arab researchers in Jordan, attended by Dr. Ghassan Mourad, who introduced computational linguistics to the curriculum of the Center for Language & Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences at the Lebanese University.
