Article 1

The following principles shall be adopted when evaluating certificates, publications and academic and administrative activities at the Faculty of Dental Medicine:

First: Points are calculated in the equivalence of publications and academic and administrative activities at the Faculty of Dental Medicine according to the following table:

Second:

a- The Faculty of Dental Medicine adopts international peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in PubMed when promoting from one academic rank to another.

b- The journal published by the Faculty of Dental Medicine is considered a peer-reviewed international scientific journal as soon as it is accepted in the PubMed index.

c- The principal researcher's points must not be less than half of the points established for a single researcher, regardless of the number of researchers.

d- Papers published or proven to have been submitted for publication prior to 1 September 2015 will count full points for the first two names and half points for the rest of the participants. This also applies to papers to be published and accepted for funding from the Lebanese University exclusively prior to 1 September 2015.

Third: For clinical titles, articles published in the journal are considered for advancement from one title to the next:

- Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Lebanese University.

- The Lebanese Dental Association.

- Association of Arab Dental Schools.

- International journals indexed in PubMed.

Promotion from Deputy Chief of Examiners to Chief of Examiners can accredit local and international lectures as well as scientific publications as follows:

- Local lecture: 1 point

- International lecture: 6 points

- Local publication: 4 points

- PubMed publication: 12 points

- Original research: 36 points

In all cases, the total score should not be less than 16 points and is calculated on the basis of 100% for the first two names and 50% for the other participants.

Fourth: To attain higher rank and title:

- A teaching assistant should have a total score of at least 40 points. The total points resulting from original scientific publications in the field of specialization should not be less than fifteen points from the content of his thesis or from outside the content of any dissertation.

- An assistant professor should receive a total of not less than one hundred points. The total points resulting from original scientific publications in the field of specialization shall not be less than sixty points, provided that at least forty-two of these points should be from original research outside any dissertation, published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and indexed in PubMed.

Article 2

This decision shall take effect and be communicated where needed.
