Decree No. 309 renaming the Institute of Journalism at the Lebanese University as the Institute of Media and specifying years of study

Article 1

The name of the Institute of Journalism at the Lebanese University shall be canceled and shall become the "Institute of Media".

 

Article 2

In addition to the general provisions stipulated in Law No. 75/67 dated 26/12/1967 organizing the Lebanese University and the provisions stipulated in Decree 8339 dated 5/10/1967, the organization of the "Institute of Media", whose name replaces the name of the Institute of Journalism wherever the latter is mentioned in legislative and regulatory texts and contracts, and which is known in this decree as the "Institute of Media" is subject to the following regulatory provisions:

 

Article 3

Articles 8, 9 and 10 of Decree 8339, dated 5/10/1967, are repealed.

 

Article 4

Teaching at the Institute of Media is conducted on a yearly system and the duration of study is set at four academic years, at the end of which the student obtains a degree in media in one of the following branches of specialization: Journalism, Radio and Television, Advertising and Public Relations:

Journalism - Radio and Television - Advertising - Public Relations

The type of specialization is mentioned on the degree.

 

Article 5

All regulatory texts contrary to this decree shall be repealed.

 

Article 6

This decree shall be published and communicated where needed.
