Article 1
The text of Article 4 of Decree No. 7985 of 26/02/1996 is repealed and replaced by the following text: “The center's mission is to prepare students for university degrees in written translation and interpretation, as well as in applied modern languages, and to organize courses for the teaching of all languages, including Arabic for non-native speakers.”
Article 2
The text of Article 5 of Decree No. 7985 of 26/02/1996 is repealed and replaced by the following text: “The Council of the Lebanese University shall determine the language sections to be taught by the center and shall set their rules and regulations and their programs, as well as those of the translation section, on the recommendation of the Unit Council.”
Article 3
Article 8 of Decree No. 7985 of 26/02/1996 is amended as follows: “The center's council is composed of: the center's director (chair); the heads of the language, written translation, and interpretation departments; and a representative of the professors (members).”
Article 4
This decree shall be published and communicated to the appropriate authorities.
