The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences was established under Decree 2883 dated 16 December 1959. After the outbreak of the Lebanese war, Branch 2 was established in 1976 in Baabda. A year later, the Branch was transferred to the Lazarist Building in Fanar, which consists of three buildings, among which the Art and Archeology Laboratory and the Geography Laboratory.
