
Scientific visit to Meteo Liban at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport
The Geography Department at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences organized a scientific visit to the Meteorological Department at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Under the supervision of Dr. Tarek Salhab, Professor of Meteorology, Climate & Environment in the master's program in Geography and Head of the Climate Department at the Meteorological Service, and in coordination with Dr. Tania Faour, Coordinator of the master's program in Geography.
Thirty-four students from the master's, professional diploma and bachelor's programs from the faculty and its branches participated in the visit. They learned about the work of the Meteorological Department in preparing weather reports, monitoring weather and climate elements, and visited the various departments of the department, its stations and equipment, weather radar, measurement methods, and information archiving.
The students also met with the Head of the Department, Engineer Marc Wehbe, the Head of Upper-Level Forecasting Weather Division, Mrs. Jocelyne Abou Fares, and the Head of Surface Forecasting Division, Mr. Mohamad Kanj.
