The Faculty of Dental Medicine seeks to train highly qualified specialist doctors who are able to provide treatment to patients in various fields of oral medicine and surgery, to raise awareness of the importance of oral health and to support scientific research. Within the relationship with the community, the Faculty of Dental Medicine includes clinics and laboratories that provide treatment services to citizens at nominal prices.

Decree No. 3261 Special Provisions for the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Lebanese University

 

Article 7

 

A Research Center shall be established at the faculty, whose regulations and objectives shall be determined by a decision of the University Council based on a proposal from the Faculty Council.

 

Article 8

 

The Center shall be managed by a Chairman and a Board.

1. The Chairman of the Center shall be appointed for a term of three years, renewable once, by a decision issued by the President of the University from among three candidates selected by the Dean from a list of five candidates submitted by the Faculty Board, from among the teaching staff of the faculty who are tenured or full-time contract employees and who hold the rank of professor or meet the requirements for this rank.

2. The Council (Scientific Research Council) shall consist of four members appointed by decision of the University President based on the recommendation of the Faculty Council, from among the teaching staff of the faculty who are tenured and/or full-time contract employees with the rank of professor (or, if not possible, assistant professor), provided that their selection takes into account scientific competence and diversity of disciplines and specializations.

 

Article 9

 

Teaching staff members are required to participate in research activities within the framework of the faculty's research center, in accordance with the costs issued by the dean based on the recommendation of the Scientific Research Council at the Center.

 

Decision No. 3663 Establishing a Research Center at the Faculty of Dental Medicine

 

Article 1

 

The Faculty of Dental Medicine shall establish a research center in accordance with Article 7 of Decree No. 3261 dated 14-6-2018 (Special Provisions for the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Lebanese University).

 

Article 2

 

Prof. Ziad Samir, known as Antoine Salameh, a full-time professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine (File No. 22262) is appointed as Head of the Research Center at the Faculty of Dental Medicine with the following Drs. as members:
