The Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences provides the public and private sectors in Lebanon with legal and administrative human resources. The Faculty concludes scientific exchange agreements with European and Arab universities and internal agreements with renowned organizations such as the Lebanese Army.

Research Center

Description

The Center for Research & Studies in Legal Informatics, known as the Legal Informatics Center, was established as an independent university unit in accordance with Decree No. 3144 of 11 April 1986, amended by Decree No. 4166 of 16 September 1987.

 

In 1993, the Center became a branch of the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences, pursuant to Decree No. 4141 dated 13 October 1993.

 

The Center focuses on law, informatics, documentation, and linguistics. It performs the following:

  • Conduct research and studies in legal informatics and develop and utilize its tools.
  • Establish a legal information bank that processes legal data using scientific methods that take into account the latest methodologies and technologies thus facilitating access to data stored in the Center's legal information bank.
  • Cooperate with higher education institutions concerned with legal, social, and linguistic studies.
  • Cooperate with information centers and various legal sectors.
  • Prepare training courses for legal professionals, including students, administrators, lawyers, judges, and professors in the field of legal informatics.
