Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Sociology of Knowledge from the Lebanese University in 1991.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Anthropology from the Lebanese University in 1986.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Lebanese University in 1991 until 2016.
  • Dean of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University in 2014.
  • Supervisor and rapporteur of dozens of master's theses, doctoral dissertations and research in the field of social sciences at the Lebanese University and a number of Arab universities and research centers.
  • Researcher specializing in contemporary Islamic studies and an expert on Islamic movements.
  • Member of the Board of Trustees of Azm University and President of the Cultural Center for Dialogue and Studies in Lebanon for several years.
  • Former General Supervisor of the Documentary & Cultural Heritage Revival Project in Tripoli.
  • Former member of the Lebanese Writers Union.
  • Author of 32 books, 14 joint works and about 80 papers published in refereed and specialized journals on sociology, education, population, economics, and Islamic movements.

 

Passed away in 2020.
