Master in Semantics from the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University in 1970;
Bachelor in Arabic Language & Literature from the Faculty of Pedagogy in 1969.

Professional Career

Lecturer at the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University in 1973, at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 1) in 1979 and (Branch 2) in 1985;
Head of the Department of Arabic Language & Literature at the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (Branch 3) between 2000-2001;
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture at the Lebanese University between 2001-2011;
Secretary General of the Association of Faculties of Fine Arts & Architecture in the Association of Arab Universities between 2001-2011;
Member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Faculties of Arts in the Association of Arab Universities for several years;
Member of the founding body of the Cultural Council in North Lebanon in 1974;
Member of the German Oriental Society for several years;
Founder and President of Salah El-Din Center for Culture and Development in 1997;
Researcher at the German Research Association (DFG);
Author of more than 80 publications in Arabic and German.
