Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Media & Communication Sciences from the University of Leicester, UK in 1991;
  • Diploma in Investigative Journalism from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), New York in 1999;
  • Bachelor in Journalism from the Faculty of Information at the Lebanese University in 1985;
  • Diploma in Teaching English from the University of Essex, UK in 1986.

Professional Career

  • Lecturer at the Faculty of Information of the Lebanese University in 1992 and Head of the Journalism Department in Branch 1 between 1998 and 2000;
  • Dean of the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences of the Lebanese University since 2016;
  • Journalism & Media Production Advisor and Investigative Reporting Coach;
  • Researcher, reporter and editor in a number of media institutions and media research and training centers in Lebanon and abroad;
  • Participant as a member of jury in a number of local and international festivals, including "Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival" in Qatar, Cairo Festival for Broadcasting and "Beijing International Film Festival";
  • Organizer and participant in more than 20 local, regional and international conferences on media and the power of media and broadcasting in the age of social media and others;
  • Author of dozens of publications on issues of propaganda, crisis media, Arab issues after the events of 11 September, and standards for documentary film production.
