Dr. Maha Hoteit from the Lebanese University selected as technical advisor at the World Health Organization – Geneva
In a remarkable academic and scientific achievement for the Lebanese University, Dr. Maha Hoteit, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Public Health, was selected among twenty experts worldwide to serve as a technical advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO) at its headquarters in Geneva for a period of three years.
Dr. Hoteit was selected based on her scientific and research experience in the fields of nutrition, food security, and sustainable food systems.
Through her advisory role at the World Health Organization, Dr. Hoteit will focus on the environmental sustainability of animal-source foods, which is one of the key themes in contemporary global health and food policies.
It is worth noting that the Faculty of Public Health at the Lebanese University has achieved remarkable research accomplishments in these fields, with over 100 scientific studies and research projects completed, reflecting the faculty's leading role and effective contribution to advancing scientific knowledge and supporting health and food policies at the national and international levels.
