Decree No. 5249 changing the name of Decorative Arts Department and creating a diploma in decorative arts

Article 1

The term “Department of Decorative Arts” shall be replaced by “Department of Interior Design & Decorative Arts” wherever it appears in legal and regulatory texts relating to the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University.

 

Article 2

The Department of Interior Design & Decorative Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University shall award the following two degrees:

1- Postgraduate Diploma in Interior Design

2- Diploma of Specialization in one of the Decorative Arts

 

Article 3

The duration of study for the Postgraduate Diploma in Interior Design shall be five academic years, distributed as follows:

1- Preparatory year

2- Three years (theoretical and practical)

3- Diploma year (applications)

 

Article 4

The duration of study is one academic year, following a postgraduate diploma in interior design, to obtain a diploma in one of the following branches of decorative arts, or others specified by the University Council based on the recommendation of the Institute Council:

1- Landscape architecture

2- Theater or scenography architecture

3- Exhibition and facade architecture

4- Industrial architecture

5- Advertising arts

6- Fashion design

 

Article 5

This decree shall come into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
