Welcome to our page
The Faculty of Pharmacy provides graduates with an experienced knowledge of medicinal and therapeutic properties of drugs and drug formulations for the treatment of diseases. The Faculty grants a Doctorate Degree in practicing pharmacy and a professional and research master’s degrees in various pharmaceutical specializations.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Lebanese University is a unique educational model and an example of success. In recent years, the quality of our teaching program has been recognized on several occasions, notably by the HCERES accreditation granted to our institution for five years (2022-2027).
Our academic work is particularly important as we are considered the faculty of reference in national examinations for the validation of foreign pharmacy degrees and in the recruitment of pharmacists by the public, civil, and military sectors.
With a view to providing high-quality training, we are actively involved in international projects co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ program (E-Taleb and Digihealth) focusing on the development of professional standards in teaching and learning. We have thus inaugurated the “NATIONAL DIGIHEALTH TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTER - NDTLC,” whose mission is to support the professional development of teaching staff in Lebanese biomedical faculties using innovative and digital teaching practices.
In the field of research, despite recent difficulties in public finances, the modernization and refurbishment of our research laboratories, associated with the Doctoral School of Science and Technology, has continued, notably with the creation of a cellular pharmacology laboratory and a drug quality control laboratory. In partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, we participated in the launch of a national pharmacovigilance policy. Lebanon is now recognized as a full partner in the Uppsala Monitoring Center program.
The Faculty of Pharmacy has also created, in collaboration with the Faculties of Public Health and Science, the National Center for the Quality of Medicines, Food, and Water, which is responsible for conducting analyses to control the quality of medicines, water (mineral and other), and food.
Once students have graduated, the Faculty of Pharmacy continues to offer them training in various fields, including clinical pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, and pharmaceutical business management. These professional and research programs are based on a collaborative platform bringing together Lebanese partners (Order of Pharmacists, university hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies) and foreign partners (French and European universities).
The Faculty of Pharmacy's work in the field of epidemiological pharmacy is very advanced, as evidenced by international publications written by specialists in epidemiological pharmacy, pharmacy, medical chemistry, etc.
Our academic, research, and training work is supported by an administrative team that carries out its professional duties with dedication.
At the Faculty of Pharmacy, we will continue our work in a stimulating team spirit, with the participation of all our fellow professors and researchers, in the hope that our projects will contribute to the development of pharmaceutical practice in Lebanon.
