Born in Ain Ebel, in 1948

 

Scientific Qualifications

  • PhD in Linguistics - Semantics from the University of Lyon 2, in 1975.
  • Master's degree in modern literature from the University of Lyon 2, in 1972.
  • Bachelor's degree in French language and literature from the Faculty of Pedagogy (FP) of the Lebanese University (LU), in 1971.

Professional Career

  • Teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS) - Branch 2 of the LU, in 1977.
  • Co-founder of the Language and Translation Center (CLT) of the FLHS.
  • Director of the CLT, between 2007 and 2011.
  • Delegate of the FLHS - Section 2 teachers, between 1980 and 1981.
  • Advisor to the Rector of the Lebanese University for Francophone Affairs, between 2011 and 2012.
  • Member of the National Committee for the preparation of French language curricula and books for pre-university general education of the Center for Pedagogical Research and Development (CRDP), between 1996 and 1999.
  • Coordinator of the Committee mandated by the Minister of Culture and Higher Education to empower Lebanese students in the French language, in partnership with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), between 1993 and 1997.
  • Researcher at the CNRS, between 1976 and 1977.
  • Trainer at the Department of Language Sciences of the University of Lyon 2, between 1972 and 1974.
  • Laureate of the Palme Académique of the French government, in 2004.
  • Participated in several local and international conferences and seminars, and has published a number of books and research articles.
