World GIS Day at FLHS - Branch 2
The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS) celebrated World GIS (Geographic Information System) Day at a meeting organized by Branch 2.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of FLHS, Dr. Soha Samad, the Director of Branch 2, Dr. Désirée Kazzi, the Marketing Manager of ESRI, Ms. Gretta Kelzi, as well as professors and students from the departments of Geography, Arts, Archaeology, and History from the five sections of the faculty, and the Coordinator of the Geography Department at the Deanship, Dr. Tania Faour.
During the meeting, the geography department presented four research projects, while ESRI gave two presentations on geographic information system software and cartography and spatial analysis techniques.
The meeting ended with ESRI presenting honorary plaques to the professors and students who participated in the research, namely: Dr. Jean Doumit, Dr. André Nassar, Dr. Samar Sakr, and students Colette Saadeh and Thérèse Zeinoun, as well as a special plaque to the laboratory of the Geography Department of the FLHS - Branch 2.
