The Faculty of Information - Branch 2 hosts Judge Ziad Chebib
Students from the Data Management Department at the Faculty of Information – Branch 2 hosted Judge Ziad Chebib, Director of Dar Al-Nahar Publishing House.
Judge Chebib began the meeting by saying, "Books are a cure for lack of knowledge", emphasizing that books will soon return as the primary means of carrying and spreading knowledge, even in the midst of the digital revolution and artificial intelligence.
Judge Chebib pointed out that the importance of books lies in their unique ability to carry and store knowledge, noting that several studies have shown a significant decline in e-books in recent times.
He stressed that Lebanon remains a true oasis for writing, publishing, and culture, based on the climate of freedom that makes Lebanon unique and gives it its raison d'être.
Judge Chebib also praised the “Data Management” major, which is unique to the Lebanese University, stressing that several institutions involved in archiving and organizing information in educational, banking, and commercial institutions need graduates of this major.
