Major description

This program involves the study of production and reproduction of productive animals such as cows, sheep, poultry, fish and bees. It provides the students with the skills of managing farms, treating and protecting animals from diseases, and studying the impact of nutrition and the environment thereon. It also provides them with basic knowledge to diagnose and treat infectious diseases and control the spread of epidemics of animal origin.

The duration of this diploma is six years (five of which are common - General Veterinary Medicine). In the 6th year, students are divided into three specializations: Poultry Medicine, Domestic Animal Medicine, Food & Abattoir Control.

The curriculum is divided between theoretical lessons, practical work, technical scientific trips and scientific training, in addition to training in private veterinary clinics.

Requirements

General conditions + Competitive Entrance Exam (CEE) to the 1st year General Veterinary Medicine with a minimum average of 12/20

Fees
245,000 LBP (Lebanese/Palestinian students) and 995,000 LBP (Non-Lebanese students) during the academic year.

Major description

This program involves the study of food safety and technology of foodstuffs of animal origin (milk, meat, fish, eggs and honey), animal health and diseases that may be transmitted to humans.

It provides the students with skills to identify and assess food safety and quality standards in animal production centers, such as testing meat in slaughterhouses, biology and food microbiology, nutrition quality management, risk analysis system and food toxicology.

It also provides them with a comprehensive educational experience, ensuring scientific and technical competencies to enhance the integration network between the university, industrialists and government institutions in relation to food and animal issues, through teaching, research and joint development programs.

This program provides the students with the study of prevention, clinical diagnosis, treatment of infectious and non-infectious diseases and general surgery for domestic animals.

The program focuses on anatomy and physiology, and the relationship to health and disease in pets, and common and important problems in veterinary work, including pet surgery, tissue, nerves, bones, oral and dental diseases.

This program enables the students to study landscape engineering in projects, especially with advanced and infrastructure construction, with the aim of preserving natural and cultural resources taking into account the ecological and socio-economic aspects of the viewer.

Major description

In response to local and regional needs, this program qualifies the students to work in the fields of improving plant production by building their technical and practical capabilities, developing their skills and keeping pace with scientific progress. The students also acquire knowledge about plant breeding, horticulture, seed production, genetic improvement, agricultural biological diversity and the integrated management of fertilization and irrigation.

The curricula include theoretical and practical courses and training programs conducted in cooperation with the Agricultural Scientific Research Department, Ministry of Agriculture, NGOs, international projects and the private sector.

This program prepares agricultural engineers who are able to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector using scientific methods and technologies, to improve the quality and quantity of agricultural products while preserving biological diversity and respecting the environment.

It includes various educational programs in the most important pests and diseases caused on the plant by fungi, bacteria, viruses and insects.

The programs also include the study of weeds and pesticides (their uses, sediments and effects on humans and environment) and the management of pests and diseases in an integrated, biological and sustainable manner.

In the "Forestry Engineering" program, the student acquires the skills needed to contribute to sustainable and multifunctional ecosystem management in forests and natural areas. Thus, this specialization contributes to enhancing the benefits that ecosystems provide for the benefit of all.

Through this program, the engineer is trained to tackle the challenges of deforestation, biodiversity loss and climate change, and how to make decisions to log and replant trees.
