Graduate Joelle Hajj Moussa wins the “TELLY AWARDS” International Festival

The documentary investigation "Escape after the explosion" prepared by the graduate Joelle Hajj Moussa (Faculty of Information), won the silver award at the 43rd American International Festival (Telly Awards) in the public interest awareness category.

The investigation, which was filmed for Al-Hurra channel in the last quarter of 2020, reviews the most prominent factors, causes and tragic circumstances that prompted a large number of Lebanese citizens to risk their lives and resort to illegal immigration via death boats in search of a better life.

Joelle who is pursuing a master's degree in economic and development journalism at the Faculty of Information, talks about her experience in media after graduating from the Journalism Department, and says: "A large part of my professors at the faculty are professional and efficient, and some of them provide us with principles basic media work.”

She adds: “Since the first day of our entry to the Lebanese University, we have been aware that we will face great challenges on more than a level, and that whoever reaches graduation is the diligent, serious and persevering student - in other words, the hero.”

Joelle concludes: “Despite all the difficult circumstances, I still believe in the Lebanese University, hoping that the officials in the country will believe in it too.”

It is noteworthy that (Telly Awards) festival honors the most prominent global achievements in the fields of advertising, television programs, video productions, cinema and documentaries, and a group of American with the participation of international media and giant companies in the media and technology industry.
