Lebanese University students win funding under “LIRA-2022” program

The projects of 20 students from the Lebanese University obtained funding within the framework of the "Lebanese Industrial Research Achievement Program" (LIRA-2022), in cooperation with institutions that support innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

The academic and industrial projects submitted by the students were related to the food industry, material synthesis, water purification using natural materials, mechanics, electronics and nanotechnology.

Results:

  • Doctoral School of Science and Technology: Hussein Mtairek, Alaa Atat, Fatima Farhat, Malak Hamieh, Nahed Sandakli, Fatima Al Dana, Liliane Majed, and Cynthia Bou najem.
  • Faculty of Engineering: Karl Moukarzel, Charbel Sfeir, Jamila Nasser El Dine, Mario Francis, Christian Helou, Mike Sakr, Yves Mansour, and Elie Khouria.
  • Faculty of Agronomy: Claire Sahyouni, Céline Zoghbi, and Perla Mikhaël.
  • Faculty of Science: Zeina El Sabeh.

The LIRA program works in cooperation with a number of partners to support the industrial sector in Lebanon through young students, developing their ideas, building their capacities, helping them in industrial research and financing their startups.
