Section I General Provisions
Chapter I Mission of the University and its Departments
Article 1
The Lebanese University is an institution that provides official higher education in its various branches and at all levels. It is also a center for high-level scientific and literary research.
Article 2
The Lebanese University is responsible for organizing the examinations that lead to the awarding of Lebanese University diplomas and degrees.
Article 3
The Lebanese University is a legal entity. It enjoys administrative and financial independence and is placed under the supervision of the Minister of National Education, in accordance with the provisions of this decree.
Article 4
The university has a special budget attached to the general state budget, the preparation, execution, and control of which are subject to the provisions of the law on public accounting and the law on the Court of Auditors.
The university's revenues are provided by appropriations entered in the general budget for this purpose, by donations, registration fees, proceeds from the sale of its publications, income from its real estate, and all other revenues allocated to it or collected by it in accordance with the provisions of this decree.
Article 5
Arabic is the language of instruction at the Lebanese University. Certain subjects may be taught in a foreign language, if necessary.
Article 6
The Lebanese University comprises the following faculties and institutes:
- Faculty of Letters
- Faculty of Sciences
- Faculty of Law and Economic and Political Sciences
- Institute of Social Sciences
- Higher Institute of Teachers
Other faculties and institutes may be created by decree of the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Minister of National Education, after consultation with or on the recommendation of the university council.
Article 7
The Lebanese University may establish cultural relations with other universities and higher education institutes, provided that its communications comply with the provisions of the laws and regulations in force.
Chapter II Administration of the University
Article 8
The Administration of the University is carried out by a president and a council.
Article 9
The president chairs the university council and has the following responsibilities:
- Preparing the work of the council and implementing its decisions.
- Administering the affairs of the university and supervising its various activities.
- Representing the university in the exercise of its rights and the fulfillment of its duties, as well as before the courts.
- Entering into contracts within the limits set by the university council.
- Proposing the appointment of the university's secretary general and other administrative staff.
- Ensuring communication between the university, the Ministry of Education, and other relevant authorities.
- All other tasks and responsibilities provided for in this decree.
Article 10
At the end of each academic year, the president shall submit a report on the administrative, financial, and scientific affairs of the university to the Minister of Education.
Article 11
The powers of the university council are as follows:
- Establish the university's internal regulations.
- Approve the internal regulations of the faculties and institutes.
- Organize study programs and curricula in the faculties and institutes.
- Accept participation in scientific and cultural conferences and appoint the university's representatives to these conferences.
- Consider the creation of new faculties and institutes.
- Establish the annual budget proposal.
- Approve expenditures that exceed the ceiling set for the university president.
- Manage the university's assets.
- Accept donations.
- All other tasks and powers provided for in this decree.
The council's decisions regarding internal regulations or the acceptance of donations from Lebanese nationals shall only take effect after approval by the Minister of Education.
As for its decision regarding the acceptance of donations from non-Lebanese nationals, it shall only take effect after approval by a decree issued by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of Education.
Participation in scientific and cultural conferences and the appointment of university representatives to these conferences shall be subject to the approval of the Council of Ministers.
Article 12
The president shall be appointed, in accordance with the provisions of the civil service regulations, from among three professors of higher education proposed by the university council, by a decree issued by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of National Education.
Article 13
In the absence of the president, the dean of the university council shall replace him.
Article 14
The university council shall be composed of:
- The president as chair;
- The deans of the faculties and the directors of the institutes attached to the university;
- One representative from each of these faculties and institutes, elected by their colleagues at the beginning of each academic year from among the tenured members of the teaching staff.
The university secretary shall act as secretary of the council without participating in discussions or voting.
Article 15
The university council shall meet, upon convocation by the president, four times a year, in October, January, April, and June, on the date set by the president.
The president may convene the council whenever he or she deems it necessary. He or she must convene it whenever one-third of the members submit a written and reasoned request, or at the request of the Minister of National Education.
Article 16
University council meetings are only legal if at least half of the members are present.
Decisions are taken by a majority vote. In the event of a tie, the president has the casting vote.
Chapter III Administration of faculties and institutes
Article 17
The faculty is administered by a dean and a council, and the Institute by a director and a council.
Article 18
The dean or director chairs the faculty or institute council and has the following powers:
- Preparing the work of the council and implementing its decisions
- Ensuring the application of regulations and the organization of courses and examinations
- Ensuring the proper functioning of the faculty or institute.
Article 19
The powers of the council of the unit or institute are as follows:
- Establishing the internal regulations of the faculty or institute, subject to the approval of the university council and the Minister of National Education
- Submitting proposals on the general affairs of the faculty or institute, particularly with regard to teaching programs and curricula.
Article 20
The deans of the faculties and the directors of the institutes must submit two detailed reports on the general affairs of the faculty or institute to the university council each year, one on the 1st of March and the other on the 1st of August.
Article 21
The dean or director shall be appointed for a term of three years from among the professors of the faculty or institute, by decree issued on the recommendation of the Minister of National Education.
The minister's proposal shall be based on a list of candidates comprising at least three names, submitted by the university council on the basis of a recommendation from the council of the unit or institute concerned. In the event of a discrepancy between this recommendation and that of the faculty or institute council, the university council may accompany this recommendation with a separate list of candidates.
The dean or director shall receive a monthly remuneration equivalent to one-third of his or her salary, provided that he or she teaches the required number of hours.
The dean or director may be reappointed once and may be reappointed after a period of three years following the end of his or her last term of office.
Article 22
The dean or director may be relieved of his or her duties by a decree issued by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of National Education.
Article 23
The faculty or institute council is composed of the heads of department, if any, or, failing that, three members elected by the teaching staff, with preference given to permanent staff members. The term of office of the council shall be three years.
Article 24
The provisions of Article 16 of this decree relating to the university council shall apply to meetings of faculty and institute councils.
Chapter IV The Teaching Staff
Article 25
The president is the head of the university's teaching staff. The dean of the faculty or the director of the institute is the head of the teaching staff of the faculty or institute.
Article 26
The teaching staff of the university consists of: professors, assistant professors, and assistants, who are permanent civil servants subject to the civil service regulations.
Contract professors, who are hired by the university to teach courses in various subjects.
Lecturers, who are commissioned by the university to teach a series of courses on specific topics.
Article 27
Professors, assistant professors, and assistants are appointed, in accordance with the provisions of the general civil service regulations, by decree issued on the recommendation of the Minister of National Education.
The Minister's proposal is based on a list of candidates comprising at least two names for each position, presented by the university council on the recommendation of the council of the unit or institute concerned.
In the event of a discrepancy between its opinion and the recommendation of the council of the unit or institute, the university council may accompany this recommendation with a separate list of candidates.
Article 28
No professor, assistant professor, or assistant is permitted to teach a subject that is not within their area of expertise.
Article 29
The university council shall determine the number of weekly teaching hours required of professors, assistant professors, and assistants. None of them shall be permitted to teach in another institute or to engage in activities outside the university, unless they devote all the hours allocated to them under the system to the university and have obtained prior authorization from the president on the advice of the relevant dean or director.
Article 30
Contractual professors may not be called upon to teach subjects that can be entrusted to permanent members of the teaching staff.
The contract is concluded on a year-by-year basis, by decision of the university council and on the recommendation of the unit or institute council. The contract is signed by the president.
Contractual professors are chosen from among Lebanese nationals, whether employed or not. They may be non-Lebanese if there are no Lebanese professors competent to teach the subject.
The contract specifies the number of teaching hours, which must not exceed the maximum number of hours imposed on permanent faculty members.
There is no difference between contract professors in terms of salaries and allowances, except with regard to cultural level, in accordance with the rates set by the university council.
Article 31
Lecturers, whether Lebanese or non-Lebanese, are appointed by the university president after consultation with the university council and the unit or institute council.
Chapter V Registration and Examinations
Article 32
The diploma that allows students to enroll at the Lebanese University is the Lebanese baccalaureate (second cycle) or its equivalent. Specific conditions are set out in the regulations of each faculty and institute.
Article 33
Students are enrolled in one of the university's faculties or institutes after registering and paying all the required fees. Registration is valid for one academic year.
It must be completed within the time limit set by the regulations of the faculty or institute.
Article 34
Registration fees cover all expenses incurred by the university, including teaching costs, practical work, laboratories, library, examinations, etc.
Article 35
Registration fees are set by decree on the proposal of the Minister of National Education, on the recommendation of the unit or institute council and after consultation with the university council. These fees are collected in accordance with the regulations of each faculty and institute.
Article 36
The academic year includes courses and exams. It begins on the first Monday of November and ends in July.
Article 37
Courses for the following academic year are organized and assigned to professors before the end of the current academic year.
Article 38
The conditions for student attendance are set by the regulations of each faculty and institute.
Article 39
University examinations are held each year in two sessions, one at the end of the academic year and the other before the start of the following academic year, on dates set by the council of the unit or institute.
Students from private higher education institutions may sit these examinations under the conditions set by the regulations of each faculty and institute of the university.
Article 40
The dean or director manages the examinations in their faculty or institute, supervises their conduct, proposes the appointment of invigilators, and takes the necessary measures to prevent and control cheating.
Article 41
The unit or institute council shall appoint an examination committee for each subject, composed of at least two members, one of whom shall be the professor who teaches the subject. The committee shall be appointed by decision of the president on the basis of a decision of his or her council. The committee's mission is to develop, in agreement with the dean or director, the examination questions, correct the papers, and conduct the oral examinations.
Article 42
The members of the committee, chaired by the dean or director, examine the results of each examination and submit them to the unit or institute council for validation and approval.
Article 43
Faculties and institutes issue official higher education diplomas. Each diploma is signed by the president and the dean of the faculty or the director of the institute concerned.
Article 44
At the request of the relevant faculty or institute, the university shall issue official university diplomas, namely bachelor's and doctoral degrees. These shall be signed by the Minister of National Education, the president, and the dean or director.
Chapter VI Disciplinary System
Article 45
Any student who fails to fulfill their duties or commits an act contrary to dignity is liable to disciplinary sanctions. Disciplinary measures taken by the university are independent of legal proceedings.
Article 46
The following are considered disciplinary offenses:
- Criminal offenses
- Breaches of security and order within the university, its faculties, and its institutes
- Deliberate refusal to attend classes, lectures, and academic work that university regulations require to be attended regularly
- Attacks on members of the teaching staff or university employees
- Rebellion against university regulations
- Cheating or attempting to cheat during an exam.
Article 47
The following are subject to disciplinary authority:
- Students enrolled in faculties or institutes affiliated with the university, as long as their enrollment is valid.
- Candidates from outside the university who take university exams, for offenses related to exams.
Article 48
Disciplinary sanctions are as follows:
- Warning.
- Verbal or written reprimand, with the written reprimand being kept in the student's file.
- Exclusion from the university for a period of between one week and one month.
- Deprivation of the right to sit university exams for one or more semesters.
- Expulsion from the university for a period of five years.
- Permanent expulsion from the university.
Article 49
The competent authorities for imposing sanctions are:
- The dean of the faculty or the director of the institute in the first three cases, with the dean or director required to obtain the agreement of the unit council to impose exclusion if it exceeds one week.
- The president, on the basis of a decision by his or her council, in all other cases.
Article 50
Any falsification, cheating, or attempted cheating during registration or exams will result in the cancellation of the exam for the perpetrator.
If the student is caught cheating, they shall be immediately expelled from the examination room and their examination shall be considered void. In all other cases, the cancellation of the examination shall be decided by the university council.
Article 51
The perpetrator of falsification, cheating, or attempted cheating, as well as their accomplices, shall be referred to the university council, which may, at the same time as the cancellation, impose one of the penalties provided for in Article 48 of this decree.
Article 52
Disciplinary sanctions are not subject to any legal appeal and may only be canceled or revoked by decision of the university council.
Article 53
The university or some of its faculties and institutes may be closed or suspended if the need to maintain order and security so requires.
The decision shall be taken by the dean of the faculty or the director of the institute for a period not exceeding two days, provided that it is immediately submitted for approval to the president, who shall inform the Minister of National Education of the measure taken.
The decision is taken by the Minister for a period of between two days and two weeks.
The decision is taken by decree of the Council of Ministers on the proposal of the Minister of National Education for a period of more than two weeks.
Section II: Provisions specific to faculties and institutes
Chapter I Faculty of Letters
Article 54
The Faculty of Letters comprises:
- The Department of Arabic Language and Literature.
- The Department of French Language and Literature.
- The Department of English Language and Literature.
- The Department of Philosophy.
- The Department of History and Geography.
- The Department of Arts and Antiquities.
- The Center for Literary Research and Studies. Other departments and centers may be created by decision of the university council on the recommendation of the Unit Council, subject to a decree.
Article 55
Each department is chaired by the faculty member with the highest rank and grade among the staff members. In the event of equal rank and grade, the chairmanship shall be given to the most senior member.
The dean chairs the department to which he or she belongs.
In the event of departments to which no faculty members belong, the faculty members of the department shall elect one of their number to chair the department for one academic year.
Article 56
Teaching within the faculty is provided according to the system of independent higher education diplomas, and no order is required to obtain these diplomas, except for the preparatory diploma that the student obtains at the end of the first year. Students may not enroll in any other degree program until they have passed the exam for that degree or if they do not hold an equivalent degree.
Article 57
The Bachelor of Arts degree comprises:
- A preparatory certificate
- A set of higher education degrees, the number and type of which are determined in accordance with the provisions of the following article.
Article 58
The university council determines the number and type of degrees comprising the various bachelor's degrees.
It also sets the programs and curricula, on the recommendation of the unit council, subject to the approval of the Minister of National Education.
Article 59
Each higher education diploma has a chair occupied by a tenured professor, who is responsible for teaching in his or her chair in terms of research, theoretical courses, exercises, and practical work.
The tenured professor is assisted in teaching his or her chair by other professors, assistant professors, and contract assistants. If there is no full professor for one of the degrees, an assistant professor shall temporarily replace him or her, otherwise other members of the teaching staff shall be appointed by the university council to fill the position for a given degree, and the university council shall elect for this purpose one of the full professors of the faculty who teach in the subject of the degree in question.
Article 60
The program of the Center for Literary Research and Studies is determined by decision of the Minister of National Education on the recommendation of the unit council and after consultation with the university council.
Article 61
To teach at the Faculty of Letters, one must hold a State Doctorate in Arts or Education after having obtained the required degrees in the subject of specialization, and have taught in higher education for five years.
- Or have had a recognized literary, artistic, or pedagogical influence for at least ten years.
Article 62
Assistant professors in the Faculty of Letters must hold a State doctorate in arts or education after obtaining the required degrees in their field of specialization and have taught in higher education for two years.
- Or hold a specialized degree from a higher education institution and have taught in higher education for five years.
- Or hold a bachelor's degree and have taught in higher education for six years.
Article 63
Lecturers at the Faculty of Letters must hold a State Doctorate in Arts or Education after obtaining a bachelor's degree in their subject of specialization.
- Or a higher education diploma or certificate of competence, and have worked in secondary education for two years.
Or a bachelor's degree in education and four years of experience in secondary education.
Article 64
Only persons who meet the requirements for appointment as permanent faculty members or who have recognized literary, artistic, or pedagogical influence may be hired to teach at the Faculty of Letters.
Chapter II Faculty of Science
Article 65
The Faculty of Science comprises:
- The Department of Mathematics
- The Department of Physics
- The Department of Chemistry
- The Department of Natural Sciences
- The Center for Scientific Research and Studies Other departments and centers may be created by decision of the university council on the recommendation of the unit council, subject to a decree.
Article 66
Each department is chaired by the faculty member with the highest rank and grade among the staff members. In the event of equal rank and grade, the chairmanship shall be given to the most senior member of staff. The dean chairs the department to which he or she belongs.
In the case of departments to which no professor belongs, the faculty members of the department shall elect one of their number to chair the department for one year.
Article 67
Teaching within the faculty is provided according to the system of independent higher education diplomas, and no order is required to obtain these diplomas, except for the preparatory diploma that the student obtains at the end of the first year.
Students may not enroll in another degree program until they have passed the exam for that degree, or if they do not hold an equivalent degree.
Article 68
The Bachelor of Science degree comprises:
- a preparatory degree.
- a set of graduate degrees, the number and type of which are determined in accordance with the provisions of the following article.
Article 69
The university council determines the number and type of degrees that make up the various bachelor's degrees, as well as their programs and curricula, on the recommendation of the unit council, subject to the approval of the Minister of National Education.
Article 70
Each higher education degree has a position held by a tenured professor who is responsible for teaching in his or her field in terms of research, theoretical courses, exercises, and practical application.
The tenured professor is assisted in teaching his or her field by other professors, assistant professors, assistants, and contract staff. In the absence of a tenured professor for one of the degrees, an assistant professor or another member of the teaching staff appointed by the university council shall replace him or her on a temporary basis. The position of tenured professor for the degree in question is assigned by the university council, which elects one of the tenured professors of the faculty who teach the subject of the degree in question for this purpose.
Article 71
The program of the research and scientific studies center is defined by decision of the Minister of National Education, on the recommendation of the unit council and with the agreement of the university council.
Article 72
To teach at the Faculty of Sciences, one must hold a State Doctorate in Science after obtaining a teaching degree in the subject of specialization and having taught in higher education for five years.
Article 73
Assistant professors in the Faculty of Sciences must hold a State Doctorate in Science after obtaining a bachelor's degree in their subject of specialization and having taught in higher education for two years.
- Or a higher education diploma or certificate of competence and having taught in higher education for four years
- Or a specialization diploma from a higher institute with a bachelor's degree, and have worked in higher education for five years
- Or a bachelor's degree, and have worked in higher education for six years
- Or a doctorate in medicine, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy, and have worked in higher education for two years, in order to teach certain subjects in the natural sciences.
Article 74
To be an assistant at the Faculty of Sciences, one must hold a State doctorate in science after obtaining a bachelor's degree in the subject of specialization.
- Or a higher education diploma or certificate of competence and have worked in secondary education for two years.
- Or a bachelor's degree and have worked in secondary education for four years.
- Or a doctorate in medicine, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy to teach certain subjects in natural sciences.
Article 75
Only persons who meet the requirements for appointment as faculty members may be hired to teach at the Faculty of Sciences.
Article 76
The head of the laboratory must hold a degree in science education and is appointed following a competitive examination organized for this purpose. The laboratory technician must hold a professional degree in the field in which he or she is to work or a Lebanese baccalaureate from Department II and is appointed following a competitive examination organized for this purpose.
Chapter III Faculty of Law and Economic and Political Sciences
Article 77
The Faculty of Law and Economic and Political Sciences comprises:
- The Department of Law and Economic Sciences.
- The Department of Political Sciences and other departments may be created by decision of the University Council on the proposal of the Unit Council, subject to a decree.
Article 78
The Faculty of Law and Economic and Political Sciences is subject to its own provisions.
Chapter IV Institute of Social Sciences
Article 79
The Institute of Social Sciences is governed by a decree issued by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Minister of National Education, after consultation with the university council.
Chapter V Higher Institute of Teachers
Article 80
The Higher Institute of Teachers trains secondary school teachers.
Article 81
The council of the Higher Institute of Teachers is composed as indicated in Article 23 of this decree, to which are added the two professors responsible for training the institute's students in the Faculty of Letters and in the Faculty of Sciences.
Article 82
The Higher Institute for Teachers comprises two departments: arts and sciences.
1- The arts department comprises five branches:
- Arabic language and Arabic literature
- French language and French literature
- English language and English literature
- Philosophy
- History and geography
2- The science department comprises four branches:
- Mathematical sciences
- Physical sciences
- Chemical sciences
- Natural sciences
Article 83
The duration of studies at the Higher Institute for Teachers is set at four years.
Courses are organized as follows:
1- During the first three years:
Students at the institute take courses in the Faculty of Letters and the sciences faculties in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in one of the branches of specialization, and receive additional courses at the Higher Institute for Teachers in their subject of specialization and in pedagogical subjects.
2- During the final year:
Students who have obtained their bachelor's degree deepen their specialized knowledge and take theoretical and scientific courses in pedagogy. They complete an internship in secondary schools under the supervision of their professors, and the most brilliant among them may be sent abroad. If they pass their exams, they obtain a certificate of teaching aptitude.
Article 84
The university council defines the study programs, theoretical and practical programs, and examination system of the Higher Institute for Teachers, on the recommendation of the institute's council, subject to the approval of the Minister of National Education.
Article 85
Only students who pass the competitive examination held for this purpose at the beginning of each school year are admitted to the Higher Institute for Teachers. Lebanese civil servants and non-civil servants may sit this competitive examination.
Article 86
The Minister of National Education shall set the maximum number of students who may be admitted to the institute for each department and each section. He shall set the amount of the scholarship from the funds allocated for this purpose in the institute's budget at least one month before the date of the competitive examination.
Students who pass the competitive examination shall be admitted in order of their marks.
Article 87
The competitive examination shall be organized and the examination board appointed by decision of the president, after approval by his council of the proposal of the institute's council.
Article 88
The president announces the results of the competition on the basis of the examination board's report, and the Minister of National Education takes a decision on the admission of successful candidates to the institute.
Article 89
All students admitted to the institute must undertake, before a notary, to teach in public secondary schools for five years, under penalty of a fine of five hundred pounds for each school year spent at the institute and reimbursement of all scholarships received if he leaves the institute or refuses to teach in the center assigned to him by the Ministry of National Education, or if he is dismissed from the institute or his position before the end of the term of his commitment. Graduates who are not appointed within six months of the date of their graduation are exempt from the commitment, provided they notify the Ministry by registered letter at least one month before the expiry of this period.
Article 90
Any holder of a study leave or equivalent is entitled to attend fourth-year courses at the institute and sit its exams, provided that they pass an exam covering the additional subjects of the previous three years and that the number of students in the section to which they are applying does not exceed the maximum number specified in Article 86 of this decree.
Article 91
Lebanese and foreign independent students may be admitted to take fourth-year courses at the institute and obtain its diploma if they meet the conditions imposed on official students, with the exception of the competitive examination requirement. These students do not receive scholarships and are not required to teach in official schools.
Article 92
The conditions of appointment and contract for members of the teaching staff of the literary section of the Higher Institute for Teachers are those laid down for members of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Letters, and the conditions of appointment and contract for members of the teaching staff of the scientific section of the institute are those laid down for members of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Sciences.
Section III Administration and Technical Matters
Article 93
The central administrative apparatus of the university shall include a secretariat responsible for:
- Providing secretarial services for the rector's office.
- Providing secretarial services for the university council.
- Liaising between the university rector's office and its faculties and institutes.
- Handling the university's correspondence.
- Publishing administrative circulars.
- Preparing the student guide.
- Keeping documents and records from the university's faculties and institutes.
- Performing any other tasks assigned to the secretariat by the president.
Article 94
The administrative and technical apparatus of each faculty and institute shall comprise:
- The secretariat
- The library
- The laboratories
Article 95
The faculty or institute secretariat is responsible for:
- Providing secretarial services for the unit or institute council.
- Organizing course schedules.
- Handling correspondence, circulars, and communications and distributing them.
- Registering students and preparing membership cards.
- Organizing and maintaining the files of faculty members and students.
- Providing information on all matters relating to the faculty or institute.
- Collecting fees and meeting the faculty or institute's supply needs.
- Performing any other administrative tasks assigned by the dean or director.
Section IV Final and Transitional Provisions
Article 96
The equivalence committee of the Ministry of National Education shall examine the equivalencies of the degrees required for the appointment of faculty members, provided that a representative of the faculties or institutes concerned is added to its membership when examining the equivalence of the degree of a candidate for a teaching position in one of the faculties or institutes of the university.
Article 97
On an exceptional basis, for a period of three years from the date of entry into force of this decree, the president, deans of faculties, directors of institutes, members of the university council, and members of faculty and institute councils may be appointed without being subject to the provisions relating to candidacy, recommendation, and election.
During the same period, the dean or director may be chosen from among competent persons outside the staff.
In this case, he or she shall be appointed to the position by decree on the proposal of the Minister of National Education, accompanied by a draft three-year contract specifying the salaries, allowances, and other obligations of both parties.
Article 98
On an exceptional basis, for a period of two years from the date of entry into force of this decree, members of the teaching staff belonging to the staff and heads of department may be appointed without being subject to the provisions relating to candidacy and recommendation.
Article 99
The teaching staff and technical employees of the university shall be determined in accordance with Table 1 appended to this decree. This table shall apply until the publication of the 1961 budget, after which the staff shall be determined each year in the annual budget.
Article 100
The administrative staff of the university shall be determined in accordance with Table No. 2 appended to this decree.
Article 101
The salary scale of the Lebanese University shall be determined in accordance with Table No. 3 appended to this decree.
Article 102
The president of the Lebanese University and the current members of the university's teaching staff shall be classified in accordance with Table No. 4 annexed to this decree.
Article 103
Taking into account the special provisions applicable to the Faculty of Law and Economic and Political Sciences, all provisions contrary to this decree or incompatible with its content are repealed.
Article 104
This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and communicated where necessary. Due to its urgency, it shall enter into force as soon as it is posted on the door of the Council of Ministers.
