Faculty of Engineering - Branch 1 hosts rapid chess tournament for northern branches
For the second consecutive year, 36 students from various branches of the Lebanese University in the north participated in the rapid chess tournament hosted by the Faculty of Engineering - Branch 1.
The tournament was organized by the Chess Club at the Faculty of Engineering - Branch 1 in collaboration with Fianchetto Chess Center Club and the Sports Activities Department at the Lebanese University under the supervision of coach Chadi Tout, while Fianchetto Club member Mohammad Hamad was in charge of technical supervision and refereeing.
At the end of the tournament, the winners received trophies and commemorative medals, and the organizers presented shields of appreciation to coach Tout, referee Hamad, and the Director of the Faculty of Engineering - Branch 1, Dr. Maher Al-Rafihi.
It should be noted that this tournament is considered the first stage of qualifying for the Lebanese University Championship at the national level, and then participation in the University Chess Championship.
