Seminar on “Psychotherapy through Music and Art” at the FLHS - Branch 4

The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS) - Branch 4 organized a seminar on “Psychotherapy through Music and Art”, attended by a group of students and professors.

 

At the beginning of the seminar, the Branch Director, Dr. Youssef Al-Akouri, gave a brief presentation on the importance of music in improving human mental health, followed by the Head of the Psychology Department, Dr. Sonia Chamoun, who presented an analytical approach to the role of music in improving emotional states.

 

After that, Dr. Hamda Farhat, professor of clinical and pathological psychology at the Lebanese University, spoke about the importance of music therapy and its positive psychological effects.

 

For his part, Dr. Hassan Amhaz, a neurologist and brain surgeon, presented a study on the pioneering role of music in healing pathological conditions, as well as strengthening the psyche with healthy immunity and the positive motivational power of music during surgery.

The seminar concluded with a presentation by Dr. Bahia Al-Tashm, professor in the departments of philosophy and Arabic language, in which she presented a philosophical reading on the importance of practicing art and music and their role in creating a peaceful life for humans.
