Seminar at FLHS on “The Psychotherapist, the Patient, and Society”

The Deanship of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLHS) organized a seminar entitled “The psychotherapist facing himself, the patient, and society,” presented by Dr. Abbas Ibrahim Mezher, prepared by the coordinator of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Nibal Hajj Mohamad, and sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Soha Samad.

In addition to students and professors from the Department of Psychology at the Lebanese University, students from private universities and a number of psychotherapists attended the seminar.

For three hours, Dr. Mezher presented psychological and social explanations on the triad of therapeutic consciousness: the psychotherapist, the patient, and society.

The first axis focused on the meaning of professional consciousness and self-healing, while the second axis dealt with the clinical relationship as a space for mutual consciousness. The third axis focused on the psychotherapist's relationship with society and human responsibility in crisis situations.

The seminar concluded with the presentation of a set of professional ethical principles in crisis contexts.
