The FPH concludes the 3rd edition of the “Brain Week” conference
The Faculty of Public Health (FPH)/MOHAR Laboratory concluded the third edition of the Brain Week conference entitled “The Brain, the Body and Consciousness,” which was organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) and the Doctoral School of Science & Technology (DSST), under the patronage of President Bassam Badran.
The conference featured a scientific presentation by the conference chair, Dr. Ahmad Al-Rifai Siraj, on the research vision of the MOHAR (Motor System, Handicap and Rehabilitation) Laboratory, which focused on integrating modern technology with physical therapy through four axes:
- Developing manual techniques for wheelchair users
- Using motor imagery and action monitoring in rehabilitation
- Employing artificial intelligence to detect motor and mental fatigue
- Studying the effect of mental arithmetic on motor control
This edition of the conference was distinguished by the announcement that the research papers and lectures presented at it would form the core content of the first issue of the Lebanese Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Journal, thereby strengthening the Lebanese University's position in the field of specialized scientific publishing.
The opening ceremony and sessions were attended by a number of deans, directors, professors, researchers, and students, and the conference provided an interactive space for discussion and exchange of modern scientific experiences.
