The Pharmacovigilance Center conducts a study on “Pfizer-BioNTech” vaccine side effects
The Pharmacovigilance Center, affiliated with the National Center for Quality of Medicines, Food, Water, and Chemicals of the Lebanese University, conducted a study on the side effects of "Pfizer-BioNTech" vaccine, in Lebanon, between 14 February and 31 March 2021, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health.
The study revealed that health situation in Lebanon improved following the launch of the vaccination campaigns, as evidenced by the low death toll and number of positive cases in Lebanon.
The study also showed that the majority of people who received the "Pfizer-BioNTech" vaccine did not need any medical follow-up, as the symptoms disappeared in a short period of time.
In addition, the research team is committed to completing a second study of “AstraZeneca” vaccine, following the announcement issued by the Minister of Public Health regarding its mild symptoms.
