"Aquatic Geochemistry" publishes a study by researchers from the Lebanese University

The scientific journal "Aquatic Geochemistry" published, on 17 June 2022, a study conducted by a group of researchers from the Faculty of Science entitled: "Influence of Diverse Urban Pressures on Water Characteristics in a Small Eastern Mediterranean Watershed".

The study focuses on the characterization of typical coastal karst water complexes through the treatment of their physical and chemical parameters and the evaluation of the spatiotemporal variability of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in them.

The studied samples, which were collected from three sites under different hydrological conditions, revealed the evolution of the percentage of organic matter components and the change in their quality along the gradient of the Qadisha River.

The research team included Dr. Zeinab Matar, Dr. Elias Maatouk, Prof. Antoine Al Samrani, Prof. Véronique Gaspard, in addition to Rosa Sawan and Reine Salame (M2 students).
