The Lebanese University ranks 2nd in the Chadirji competition

On 2 July 2022, the Chadirji Foundation for Architecture and Society organized its 22nd award for architecture students in Lebanon (Projects 2020 - 2021), in a ceremony held at the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut.

Of the 16 projects from eight faculties of architecture in Lebanon that participated in the competition, the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture (FFAA) ranked second.

Christine Fares, who is pursuing her master's degree in urban planning at FFAA, presented a project entitled "The Nexus-Urban Transit Hub, Mar Mikhael" which provides society with a variety of means of transportation to benefit the economy and the environment.

The project is an urban transit center located in Mar Mikhael - Medawar area of Beirut. The site was chosen because of its historical significance, as Mar Mikhael was the center of one of the oldest railway stations in Lebanon (St. Michael's Station), connecting the north to the south and east to the west.
