Press release from the Presidency of the Lebanese University
In response to what has been circulating in the media and on social networks concerning the presence of “weapons in one of the buildings of the Lebanese University”, the Presidency of the university wishes to make the following clarifications:
First: As part of the inspection of all university buildings and centers to determine the damage resulting from the Israeli aggression, it was noted that the locks had been changed in one of the rented warehouses dedicated to the storage of perishable materials and equipment, located in Jnah area and not on the campus of the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences of the Lebanese University, contrary to what is being circulated.
Second: The contents of the warehouse were inspected in the presence of the university's lawyer, the warehouse owner and the warehouse manager, and it was found that the contents included some military uniforms, suitcases and locked boxes, so the judge took the decision to close the warehouse with red wax to complete the investigations and take the necessary legal measures.
In order to preserve the security of its educational environment, the Presidency calls on all media to be accurate and cautious in their publications, especially in the current circumstances, and to refrain from disseminating such news without awaiting the results of the investigation being carried out by the security services in this matter.
