Clarification from the Lebanese University Presidency
Media outlets and social media sites have circulated a statement attributed to His Excellency Judge Nawaf Salam that he prefers graduates of the American University or European universities exclusively to be named in the upcoming Ministry.
Based on the above, and in order to clarify the matter and remove any confusion before the Lebanese public opinion in general and the people of the university in particular, President Bassam Badran initiated contact with His Excellency Judge Nawaf Salam to clarify the truth of what is being published. His Excellency denied this, emphasizing his full support for the Lebanese University and his pride in the active and pioneering role of the university graduates who have assumed the highest leadership positions in Lebanon and the diaspora and in all scientific, economic, medical, judicial, media and humanitarian forums.
This is due to the presence of elite educational and scientific cadres at the Lebanese University who are recognized for their competence, as proven by the university international rankings. His Excellency emphasized that he is also a graduate of the Lebanese University and this is a source of pride for him.
