Training workshop at the Research Center of the ISS on "Creative Commons and Open Educational Resources"
The "inter-disciplinarity" laboratory at the Institute of Social Sciences organized a training workshop on "Creative Commons and Open Educational Resources" presented by Dr. Fawzi Baroud, in the presence of Professor Marlène Haydar, Institute Dean, Professor Hussein Abu Reda, Head of the Research Center at the Institute, as well as academics and students.
Dr. Susanne Moneim, Laboratory Coordinator spoke in the workshop on how to benefit from and share open educational resources with the Institute students to help them in the learning process.
Professor Abu Reda indicated that the contribution to strengthening the education sector is based on raising awareness about the importance of open educational resources in terms of their production, reuse and distribution according to high-quality standards, in addition to developing human resources to reach the knowledge economy.
Dr. Baroud stressed the need to share open educational resources, which UNESCO approved its application in 2019 with the approval of 190 countries, including Lebanon, pointing to the importance of using open educational resources for the purposes of learning, teaching and research as resources available in multiple forms falling within the scope of the public and private domain and subject to copyright under an open license that allows free use, reuse and distribution.
In conclusion, Professor Haydar noted the meaningful topic of the lecture and participated in the discussion between the lecturers and the participants.
